mobile games, has announced the 1st anniversary festival of its action MMORPG MU
Legend.

As a year has passed since MU Legend’s official release in the EU/NA/SEA regions,
players can now celebrate the game’s birthday from today until 4 December with the
1st Anniversary Festival.

First, the in-game area Ohrdor has been transformed into a colorful night city with
bright fireworks and a celebratory atmosphere.

Along with this festival mood, players can collect Anniversary Coins that can be
exchanged for valuable items through various in-game events.

To receive Anniversary Coins, players can complete the Ohrdor Sewer dungeon without
letting the monster reach the ladder, or they can play the dungeon event of the
Labyrinth and escape as fast as they can. Only 2 entries for each dungeon will be
allowed per day. The daily entries are reset every day at 5:00 am UTC.

Treasure hunts are also on offer for players to earn rewards, with treasures
spawning around Ohrdor several times per week and at special times during the
weekend.

Once players finish collecting Anniversary Coins through missions or different
anniversary items, they will also gain the chance to be rewarded with special items.
These include a selectable item of Lv. 70 Divine Set armor and 1st anniversary
outfits/wings that are exclusive to the event.

In addition, special sales and lucky boxes for the anniversary are now available in
the shop.

Meanwhile, WEBZEN has merged MU Legend’s servers after the weekly maintenance today.
The EU and US will each see the merging of both of their current existing servers
into one server per region.

Some of the equipment is still incredibly expensive while some platforms and devices are not. For example, just saw a VR set for mobile phones for just $15 at Walmart. That is definitely a reasonable price considering that some VR equipment can cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Just look at Vive and Oculos Rift. For example, Rift is $599 and Touch can be added for about $200 more. HTC Vive is the same price as those two combined at $799 on New Egg.

Virtual Reality can be found in many different areas of games and some may not be ones you would expect. For instance, VR is also changing the Future of Poker and improving the ability of consoles worldwide with Playstation VR. Of course, this PlayStation version is what Taco Bell is giving away. You buy the $5 box and then text the code on the box to see if you won or not. I just received a text that said try again immediately after entering the code. Also, it is worthy to note that PSVR just launched so don’t be surprised if the system experiences some hiccups with the technology and/or launch titles games.

Regarding VR games, no killer game/app has yet to emerge but there are many standouts already available such as Elite: Dangerous, Job Simulator, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Minecraft VR, Hover Junkers, and Eve: Valkyrie. Furthermore, the biggest VR headsets also have exclusive games just like game consoles. The games exclusive to Oculus Rift include Asseto Corsa, HalfLife 2, and Alien Isolation. The games exclusive to HTC Vive include Pool Nation VR and Everest VR. Overall, players have a plethora of VR choices available to them regardless of the platform.

For example, Marvel has just announced they will publish a spin-off of sorts from their mega popular Deadpool franchise: Deadpool the Duck hailing from almighty Duck World. With Howard the Duck being the first Marvel character to receive a full featured movie, don’t be surprised to see a game in the future that revolves around Duckworld with characters such as the aforementioned Deadpool the Duck and Ducktor Strange.

Marvel has used this formula successfully for years and has helped modern gamers become familiar with super heroes and villains that have not had a lot of coverage in many years. Marvel Heroes, in particular has been very adapt in “introducing” less known characters to new gamers. In one of GameOgre’s most popular giveaways ever on the forum, Marvel Heroes gave away a free random character. While many were getting heroes like Hulk and Thor, I ended up with the tough ever dangerous tower of power known as…….Squirrel Girl. Despite being familiar with many known and lesser heroes, I had a received one that I have never heard in my life. However, that does not mean that Squirrel Girl can not develop into an epic character as the subject of movies and games someday.

Other current Marvel Games include Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Online Marvel Slots, Marvel Pinball, and Marvel Future Fight. Of these, Marvel Ultimate Alliance and its sequel had problems at launch but have since been fixed. The other games, especially Lego Marvel Super Heroes, have found success within a nice niche. The Marvel IP can spread itself well over various gaming niches and platforms. For example, super heroes are doing well on mobile devices with apps such as the aforementioned Future Flight, Avengers Academy, and Contest of Champions.

Upcoming games are not as clearly defined, but there are a couple of possibilities on the radar screens of gamers worldwide. There is potential for an epic version of Spider-man and a 2017 game project with Telltale games at the helm. Telltale makes story driven adventure games based on famous entertainment franchises such as Minecraft, Game of Thrones, and Batman. This partnership could be very lucrative if several Marvel super heroes have games separately. Who knows, Squirrel Girl may even make an appearance. On Saturday, September 17 at the ESL Studios in Burbank, California the top six teams from around the world will compete in a single-elimination tournament to decide who will claim the title of Guild Wars 2 World Champion. The winning team will walk away with $100,000 in prize money.
