During 2023 there were a lot of excellent contenders to sift through, especially highly anticipated games. However, Baldur’s Gate 3 stood out as the best hands-down for its character choice, customization, and world-building. Unsurprisingly, MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV made the grade for “Most Anticipated” when Square Enix announced the upcoming expansion with Dawntrail. Certainly, it was hard to pass up a game like Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for this list, especially after all the anticipation, but it’s worth an honorable mention here – as an excellent sequel to Breath of the Wild, it warmed many controllers as the pandemic began to fade. Keep playing online games like at gambinoslot.com and reading to find out what the Ogres think the best games of 2023 were and what we can look forward to in 2024.

New Game of the Year: Baldur’s Gate 3

Larian Studios knocked it out of the park in 2023 with Baldur’s Gate 3, the third installment in this fantasy role-playing game based on Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Set in the Forgotten Realms, a fantasy world well known to D&D players, the player quickly finds themselves captured by gruesome mind players and thrust into making decisions if they will accept corruption for power or fight and become a hero to save the world. It embraces the idea that what a player does in the world has a profound effect on the outcome of the game and provides deep customization of characters with a wide variety of people, objects, and environments to interact with. Making it a perfect choice for the Game of the Year.

Runners Up: Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Starfield, Alan Wake 2

The cat-like Hrothgar race will receive female versions. Players will be able to reach a higher level cap at 100, up from 90. Producer Naoki Yoshida has promised that Dawntrail will be “a complete evolution” for Final Fantasy XIV, and fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to explore its exotic new landscapes, unleash the power of its innovative new classes, and uncover the secrets that lie hidden within. During 2022 we saw a lot of games reach their heyday and few really became as genre-defining as Elden Ring, which really took the Souls-like form and forged it in a crucible. Once again World of Warcraft has returned to the rewards with a new expansion, which is not at all unexpected as one of the most populous MMORPGs on the market. The best sandbox games like Minecraft also continue to thrive in the year 2022. Although the pandemic has been waning, people are still gaming and socializing online and so there are a lot of games to play like Big Bass Bonanza and keep up with so keep reading to see what the Ogres think were the best games to play in 2022 and to look forward to in 2023.

Elden Ring won last year’s Most Anticipated Game of 2022 and it did not disappoint. It is a souls-like RPG developed by FromSoftware and published by Namco Entertainment with a staggering, dangerous world from the mind of Hidetake Miyazaki and worldbuilding provided by fantasy writer George R.R. Martin, the author of Game of Thrones. After its release in February, the game sold more than 17.5 million units worldwide by October 2022 and received widespread critical acclaim and praise. Elden Ring features stunning vistas, a trackless open-world to explore with constant excitement, strange dungeons to explore, as well as challenging and unforgiving bosses that challenge players’ skill at every turn. Out of any game from 2022, it deserves the New Game of the Year Award for its rousing success at providing a stimulating adventure and wild storytelling.

This is the second time that this game has landed in this award, but the first time that it might actually launch in the year that it’s anticipated in as it’s scheduled for released May of 2023. It is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Nintendo and it has been under development since 2017, the same year BotW was completed. It is expected to have the same open-world exploration mechanics as its predecessor along with climbing and gliding, but few other details have been revealed by Nintendo.

It features the already extensive weapon customization system from MW1 and extended it and focused on bigger maps with even more players, with familiar modes such as Free-for-All Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed. Now there are also large scale battles such as Groundwar and Invasion. In Groundwar there are huge maps with 32-player teams to battle through and in Invasion 20v20 teams duke it out of territory alongside waves of AI-controlled enemies. Best MMORPG of the Year: World of Warcraft: Dragonflight

wow-dragonflight-image

It’s impossible to keep a huge game down, World of Warcraft is returning to the Game Awards for yet another year with its most recent expansion Dragonflight. The game also introduced a whole new race/class combo, the Dracthyr, a humanoid dragonkin who have arrived with the discovery of the Dragon Isles and have exactly one class, the Evoker. Not only that, although it might have been glossed over above, Dragonflight gives players the opportunity to command a dragon, which is something of a selling point. As of September 30, it sold over 7.9 million copies worldwide, making it the fastest-selling game in the franchise and one of the best-selling Switch games of all time. Although Splatoon is a shooter, it takes the concept and makes it extremely vibrant and playful by using paint-based weapons – this theme is also part of some of the game modes.

The year 2021 was hit by the brunt of the pandemic but it still saw the release of many amazing video games so this list was not an easy one to compile. Most interestingly, Final Fantasy XIV stole the spotlight away from World of Warcraft with its best expansion ever (although WoW still holds the largest subscriber base). People spent a lot more time indoors, playing video games, socializing online, and playing on these online casino sites to keep themselves safe, so here’s several great games to look into in case you missed them!

New Game of the Year: Metroid Dread

metroid-dread

Representing the latest 2D platform leaping adventure in the Metroid series, Metroid Dread comes 20 years after the last one, and represents an amazing work that weaves together everything that the puzzler has to offer to players and more. It puts players back into bounty hunter Samus’ armored boots as she traverses Planet ZDR in search of the deadly X Parasite and pits her against deadly bosses. It also hearkens back to everything that made Metroid great: power-up unlocks, the ability to go back over old territory and discover new secrets, and scary boss battles. The game also introduces stealth sections – something not usual to Metroid games – that adds an additional element to gameplay.

Released for the Nintendo Switch, Metroid Dread did a beautiful job of bringing together story, environment, graphics to make a game that can be heralded as the best new game of 2021.

Runners Up: It Psychonauts 2, Takes Two, Forza Horizon 5

Most Anticipated Game for Next Year: Elden Ring

elden-ring

In the game, the player is called upon to plumb the enigma of the world of Elden Ring and rise from a simple Tarnished and become a Lord. With over 100 skills to learn, mounted combat, stealth sections, and different ways to tackle the puzzles or combat sequences it should be a game to remember. The game features stunning vistas, numerous dungeons to explore, powerful unforgiving bosses, and numerous dungeons to test metal and mettle against.

Runners Up: Breath of the Wild 2, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Nightingale

Best Online Shooter of the Year: Halo Infinite Multiplayer

halo-infinite-multiplayer

Returning to the classics last year proved to be the golden ticket for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer first-person shooter mode developed by 343 Industries. Although the campaign of Halo Infinite not free, the multiplayer is free-to-play and accessible to anyone with a PC or Xbox. It provides 4v4 battles or large 12v12 big team fights. The game is beautiful and brings new life to the franchise with amazing graphics, familiar weapons, and dazzling effects – but it also retains everything that made Halo a fast-paced but strategic shooter in the first place. It provides playlists for game modes that include One Flag Capture the Flag, Capture the Flag, Capture the Flag, Strongholds, Oddball, and Slayer. Overall, it’s an online multiplayer shooter attached to a game that almost won Game of the Year, so it’s worth checking out.

Runners Up: Apex Legends, Fortnite, Valorant

Best MMORPG of the Year: Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker

Final-Fantasy-XIV-Endwalker

This award list would not be complete without mentioning Endwalker, the most recent expansion to Final Fantasy XIV the MMORPG published by Square-Enix. Although the expansion was delayed for two weeks due to the pandemic, it still caused the company to suspend sales of its game for months due to overwhelming demand. The expansion has been such a success that it drove queue times for the game to hours long waits. As an expansion, Endwalker brings to a completion 10 years of story and ties together multiple threads that delivers an epic culmination in what can only be described as a love letter to the franchise, the world, and the community led by legendary storyteller Natsuko Ishikawa. Emotions are expected to run high as players are put through what is expected to be the “end” of an era and everything they hold dear.

Runners Up: Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, World of Warcraft

Best Online Game of the Year: Monster Hunter Rise

monster-hunter-rise

Monster Hunter Rise is a monster-hunting action-RPG developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Switch system – that now has a port to the PC in the beginning of 2022. In the game, players track large creatures across trackless countryside solo and in groups to take them down in epic battles in order to take them down. To traverse the maps, players can ride on a dog, called a palamute, wall run, and use a grapple to find their targets. They must also study them carefully, because each large creature has special attacks that lay even the best-prepared hunters low – but even these great beasts have weaknesses that can be exploited. Rise adds a few quality-of-life changes over older games, such as easy pickups of gatherable items, riding dog, and increased variety of bestiary to find and slay. The game also offers the players a huge arsenal of weapons to take the giant creatures on with so they won’t be bored when hunting.

The year 2020 began a decade and brought a few amazing new games to us, including one of the most anticipated games ever with Cyberpunk 2077 – it also almost crashed and burned. To say that 2020 was interesting times for the video games industry would be an understatement, but there’s been some wonderful games to play including a bevy of shooters, online games, and MMORPGs, and including a new expansion to World of Warcraft.

  1. New Game of the Year: Cyberpunk 2077

When Cyberpunk 2077 hit the shelves it made a crater, not because it was the best exactly but because it was the most anticipated game of 2019 and its failed launch generated massive controversy. In spite of launching with massive bugs, especially on console, which led to giving refunds to players, CD Projekt Red still sold 13 million copies and managed to tell an awesome story about cyberpunk dystopia with all the panache and tone of a studio that consistently releases epic masterpieces. The game’s controversy highlighted problems with the games industry – many exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic but some that happen every year with other publishers. Despite the game’s technical flaws, the story still ended up taking Night City and Keanu Reeves to amazing heights. Cyberpunk 2077 is a neon-drenched adventure filled with smart bullets, cyberware, immortal ghost terrorists, the human condition and jonesing for one last cigarette. For other exciting new online games, you can play on the following platform: boostcasino.com/fi/kolikkopelit.

Runner’s up: Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, DOOM Eternal

  1. Most Anticipated Game for Next Year: Breath of the Wild 2

Released in 2017 for the Nintendo Switch, Zelda: Breath of the Wild opened up a brand-new open world for the Zelda series that showed where the series could go. By expanding the Zelda franchise out of its mere RPG existence and into open-world exploration, BotW showed fans that Zelda had a lot of room to grow. Now, the sequel has been announced and that influential and innovative spirit will get new life and excitement has surged. It will, of course launch on the same entertainment system. Although few details have been given, Breath of the Wild 2 looks similar to its ancestor (from what little has been shown) it the rumor mill has already begun to churn.

Runner’s up: Psychonauts 2, Horizon: Forbidden West, Diablo 4

  1. Best Online Shooter of the Year: Apex Legends

The free-to-play online hero shooter Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment lets players fight together cooperatively as squads of three in a battle royale. Up to 20 three-person squads or 30 two-person duos land on an island and search for weapons and supplies an in attempt to become the last team standing in a survival of the fittest battle. Each team must scrounge quickly and then move as their safe zone rapidly shrinks, forcing them ever closer together. The graphics are beautiful and the run-and-gun battle style leads to adrenaline-filled matches.

Runner’s up: Valorant, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, Rainbow Six: Siege

  1. Best MMORPG of the Year: World of Warcraft

With the release of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, WoW remains the most popular MMORPG by sheer population, it merely cannot be ignored on the world stage, and this most recent expansion puts it once again into the spotlight. It is also one of the most beautifully stunning expansions ever released by Blizzard to date bringing all new zones into the game with all new factions that feature cinematic trailers for each of them as the Banshee Queen Sylvanas pierced into the very afterlife Azeroth’s heroes. The new expansion introduces five new zones ruled by four Covenants. Each Covenant will provide players brand new ways to explore and intervene in the world with new mechanics and abilities – and, of course, there will be a number of new cosmetic changes, additional dungeons, raids, and an endless dungeon called Torghast, the Tower of the Damned, which acts as a “roguelike,” which allows both solo or group play for players so interested in that sort of gameplay.

The Nintendo Switch brought many social online games including Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which gives players their own island replete with vacationing animals. Players set out to create the best getaway paradise and build up their own house and even visit their friends, craft items, and pay off their loan. After nearly 20 years, the big blue Ogre is looking for a pet! The only problem is finding what would work for an Ogre’s pet. Obviously, it would need to be a monster that is not an Ogre. However, something else blue is still possible. To create a fantasy pet, you must first imagine a fantasy world for it. For example, it is like a magical night at william hill casino where you can play some of the most fun and exciting online games imaginable. Take the sights and sounds experienced there and weave your own fantasy world. Then allow your monster to evolve from this world!

One possibility is a smaller monster like the Blade Ogre as the featured image. A small brutish monster that looks like an ogre could be a mini me type pet. Maybe something like a blue goblin or kobold? Other pet possibilities include wolves and a monster known as a Bullywug. Bullywugs live in swamps and look like a cross between an Ogre and a frog.

Also, there is currently a contest on the GameOgre forum where members can help create a pet for the forum! GameOgre is looking for a pet for at least the forum that we can use for various things like the forum games and Ogre Adventures. Will likely be purchasable in the shop for points. This pet would have a name and probably a drawing of some kind to use it. However, the pet will also have its own thread in Ogres Hall and will need a back story and a great description.

Rules

1. To enter, need at least a general description.
2. Will have time once entered to improve on your pet.
3. No bickering or flaming etc. This is meant to be fun.
4. The pet should be as original as possible and not something like a baby Shrek lol.
5. Names I will leave up to you. They can either be PMed or in the post.
6. The contest will last from 1 to 2 months.
7. Accept that the pet would be owned and used by us in various forms including images. You would get credit for making it, but it would be ours. If that is going to be a problem, simply don’t enter.

Prizes

1. Will automatically own the pet in the forum without having to pay for it like everybody else.

The year 2019 represented the end of a decade, but it also felt a little light on the release of online games. Much of the market has been saturated with battle royale shooters – with Fortnite, PUBG, and Apex Legends leading the way – but it also gave rise to a lot of sequels including The Division 2, Borderlands 3, and new seasons of existing titles. However, it also saw the return of City of Heroes and an equally diverse array of online games. Play blackjack at Indiacasinos.com

  1. New Game of the Year: Borderlands 3

The Borderlands series has been telling tongue-in-cheek stories about Pandora for quite some time, but the fourth installment in the series has expanded that experience to multiple planets. Borderlands 3 has its flaws, but it managed to take its joy of adventure, and love for bizarre manifold and multifactorial firearms in infinite abundance.

Runners up: The Division 2, Apex Legends, Remnant: From the Ashes

  1. Most Anticipated game for Next Year: Cyberpunk 2077

It’s impossible to look anywhere on in the news without running across interest in CD Projekt Red’s upcoming futuristic dystopian game Cyberpunk 2077. Its release has been delayed until September 2020 and it may not be getting multiplayer until 2022, but the game has captured the hearts and minds of everyone who wants to jack in and find their way in this RPG thriller that asks questions about the technological mercenary side of human experience.

Runners up: Phantasy Star Online 2, Half-Life: Alyx (VR), Watch Dogs: Legion

  1. Best Online Shooter of the Year: Tom Clancy’s The Division 2

The Division attempted to set a standard for a new type of shooter that combined aspects of open world solo campaign gameplay with a multiplayer experience, but it initially fell a bit short. With the release of The Division 2 many of those original flaws were addressed and a brand-new landscape of online experience opened up and expanded on the original’s blueprints. TD2 does a good job of having something for everyone, from RPG development elements, to thrilling seat-of-your-pants lone-wolf treks through the PvP-centric Dark Zone in search of loot.

Runners up: Borderlands 3, Apex Legends, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Fortnite

  1. Best MMORPG of the Year: City of Heroes Homecoming

Sometimes the best things in life are games that you thought were gone. 2019 saw the resurrection of City of Heroes, a game killed by publisher NCSoft, but the hard work and ingenuity of fans brought it back from its early grave. With Homecoming, CoH lives again in its nostalgic, living glory with a lively community, original missions, updated classes, and it’s continued on as a free-to-play experience that picks up right where it left off.

Runners up: Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, Elder Scrolls Online: Elswyr

  1. Online Game of the Year: Apex Legends

The previous year, 2018, felt like the year of the battle royale shooter, and that has splashed over into 2019 with the launch of Apex Legends, an exciting role-based survival shooter. Apex exceeded over 25 million players by the end of its first week. It has been a massively popular and fun game for both players and viewers on video game streaming sites such as Twitch.

The ninth adventure of Ogre Adventures RPG, Blue Ogre Jail Break, puts players in a position to rescue the big Blue Ogre!

This Adventure is for Level 9 Players only.

For the most part, you have to roll higher than a certain number to get past an obstacle or monster besides the boss.

Adventurers (join by rolling in this thread)

Heroman (Phase 5) (450 Point Pet Damage)(171 Army Damage)(144 Damage Skeleton Dragon)
Mtv (Phase 3)(325 Point Pet Damage)(119 Army Damage)(1 90s)
Crownknight (Phase 2)(275 Point Pet Damage)(139 Army Damage)(You = 3000 Points) (17 Skeletons = 7,242 Points)

Phase One

After defeating the Giant Dragons, you learn that the Undead are really charge and they have taken the Big Blue Ogre prisoner under the Land of Dragons. You see an open pit and dive through in order to get to the jail! Roll a 90 or better to make it down to the prison in one piece.

Phase Two

You slowly make your way down to the prison and you are having a hard time seeing with all the fire and smoke. However, you can’t help but see the monstrous structure that must be holding the giant Ogre! You start to make your way to get past the big iron doors up front, but an army of skeletons rise up and attack you, your pets, and even your army. Roll twice. You can use of your damage on them. They will only attack you if they roll their number or within 2 points of their number still around. In other words they will attack together or will not attack. When they do attack, it will be 50 points of damage per skeleton still there. Win this battle to make it to the prison.

Phase Three

After demolishing through all the bones and skeletons, you find yourself in front of a huge building! To make matters worse, eerie noises emanate from inside. To advance into this prison of doom, you need 3 rolls of 90 or better and you can roll 3 dice per turn for this phase.

Phase Four

You break into the monstrous prison and confronted immediately by four monster skeletons that somehow appear familiar to you! Destroy them with 4 more 90s, but the same number of rolls. Also, be wary of the number of 4 as four of them in set of rolls can bring one back to the fight!

Phase Five

The last of the four undead monsters of doom falls to the floor when the ground begins to shake and rumbles. Then the bones start to take a live of their own as your pets and army are suddenly imprisoned in bones! The rest of the bones come together to form one giant undead dragon! To beat this dragon of bones, roll one dice to try to get 2000 damage points.

Phase Six

You pulverize the bone dragon into bone dust! When the cloud of dust finally subsides, you make way into more of the prison. You come across five walls of steel cage. All the gates are repeatedly opening and closing very quickly on their own. With 3 dice each time, roll 5 90s to make it past these walls.

Phase Seven

You make it past those walls to run smack dab into the biggest foulest creature you have ever seen or smelled in your life. This unique looking monster appears to be an undead mutation of giants. Using all your pets and army destroy this mountainous monster with 7000 hit points! A red 100 roll will win you a unique item.

Phase Eight

The monster lets out a hundred shrieks at once and then goes lifeless. However, the monster suddenly starts rolling towards you deeper down into the prison! Outrun the rolling mass and find safety before being squashed! You will need 5000 stamina to avoid being rolled over, but you can use your stamina bonus with each roll.

The latest and greatest Event/Meetup involving Ogreman and AQ3D happened about a month or so ago. This Event was not only to bring the GameOgre community to AQ3D, but it was also to introduce the permanent travel form and the Blue Ogre Cave. Most importantly, it was just a lot of fun! Everything was well scripted and the players enjoyed all the enemies and loot. That said, here are the screenshots from this experience:).

GameOgre.com Presents The 2018 Online Game Awards

2018 is now in the books and what a year it was! The red hot Battle Royal sub-genre grew even bigger as a more mainstream option to PUBG prevailed. In fact, you could almost say that while PUBG was the EverQuest of Battle Royals, Fortnite was the World of Warcraft. For overall genres based on the number of hit games, shooters definitely led the way in 2018. Overall, newer games did better than the usual suspects so let’s get to the awards!

New Game of the Year:

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

acoYes, most of the big new games of 2018 were sequels of major game franchises. The best of the lot for PC fans is Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey while console gamers have a gem with Red Dead Redemption 2.

Runners-Up:

Red Dead Redemption 2, Slay the Spire, Call of Duty Black Ops 4

Best Gaming Value:

Arma 3arma3

Developing into the mothership for a lot of creative shooters, Arma 3 boasts one of the best player communities for creating good content. In fact, some creations have gone on to be popular games in their own right.

Runners-Up:

Divinity:Original Sin 2, Borderlands 2

Most Innovative Online Game:

Deep Rock GalacticdeeprockgalacticDRG is something of an unlikely sleeper hit. If you described the game as dwarves in space blowing stuff up in mines you would likely not get a lot of interest. In fact, there already is an indie space dwarf game and it hasn’t exactly set the world on fire.

Runners-Up:

Kenshi, Slay the Spire

Best Online Shooter

Rainbow Six Siegerainbow-six-siegePossibly the most competitive category minus the last one, shooters have hit the competitive and Rainbow Six Siege is big part of that. Despite some player grumblings, this game is still one of the most sold and played games on Steam.

Runners-Up:

Fortnite, CS:GO, PUBG

Most Anticipated Game for 2019:

Shenmue 3shenmue3Shenmue 3 is one of the most anticipated games of the decade or longer much less the year. The highly ambitious and beautiful franchise took an incredibly long hiatus after Sega left the console biz after the demise of the Sega Dreamcast. Like the Dreamcast, Shenmue was popular and well received but did not last long. This installment, breathes much needed life back into the old franchise.

Runners-Up:

Anthem, The Division 2

Best Indie Game:

DuskDusk

Dusk takes an old formula for FPS games of the 1990’s and modernizes it without too many bells and whistles. It also just released towards the end of the year, but has already amassed quite a following with both sales and glowing reviews. If enjoyed old shooters such as Doom, Hexen, Redneck Rampage, and Quake then you should love to play Dusk on much newer devices in 2019.

Runners-Up:

AQ3D, Rimworld, Stardew Valley

Hidden Gem of the Year:

Slay the Spireslaythespire1What began as a late buy in last year’s Steam Summer Sale became one of my favorite games in years. Despite being a card driven rogue like game, this game can be deceptively addictive once you start playing. The game has low requirements and it is a breeze to get started. Instead of having one character and focusing on them only, Slay the Spire is about you using multiple characters to make it to the top of the spire.

Runners-Up:

Dusk, Deep Rock Galactic

Best Action Game:

Warframewarframe9Warframe has developed into one of the most popular shooters and free games in the world. You can always find it near the top on Steam’s rankings and that will not likely change anytime soon.

Runners-Up:

Rocket League, World of Tanks, Borderlands 2

Loot Lord:

AQ3Daq3dlootYes, this award is due in part to GameOgre working with AQ3D on items in the shop and forum meetups, but this game and its developer are more than just that. This is one free MMORPG that is constantly working on updates and player friendly Events. Of course, the most obvious of these is the Beat the Ogreman Event last year, but there was also a pirate one where Ogreman the player became a pirate with two pistols!

Runners-Up:

World of Warcraft, CS:GO

Not Dead Yet:

PUBGpubg2018Despite starting the year on fire with over 3 million players, PUBG quickly found themselves going the other way as Fortnite quickly replaced them as the leading battle royal. In fact, Fortnite even achieved great mainstream success by being mention on many news outlets. Thus, all the outraged players from being banned etc seem to be suggesting that PUBG could even die before the year was out. However, that did not occur as PUBG not only stopped the sliding, but actually improved to close out the year.

Runners-Up:

Pro Wrestling X, The Division, World of Warcraft

Best Free Online RPG

pathofexile1Path of Exile is not exactly new (officially released in 2013), but it has developed into one of the most popular online RPGs today. Well before its release, PoE was featured in our giveaway section but was mainly considered to be just a Diablo clone back then. Now, however, is a much different story. The game is now also available on consoles and continues to grow better.

Runners-Up:

AQ3D, RuneScape

Best MMORPG

Monster Hunter: Worldmonster-hunter-world

This may be one of the first years that World of Warcraft has not at least won this award. This is due to the fact that Monster Hunter: World had a better year and is now one of the most popular MMORPGs in the world. Also, the game is not hampered by a monthly fee. Instead, you just have to buy the game and it is best to catch it in a big sale like on Black Friday if possible.

Runners-Up:

Black Desert Online, WoW, RuneScape

GameOgre.com’s Online Game Of The Year For 2018

Fortnitefortnite1

What we have this year and last year for awards is something like Everquest and World of Warcraft in MMORPGs. PUBG (like Everquest) was there first in Battle Royals and focused on the hardcore players while achieving great success in a hot new niche of online gaming. However, Fortnite (like World of Warcraft) followed this initial success and even improved on it substantially by focusing more on the mainstream. In fact, Fortnite even increased its mainstream appeal even further by being free. As a result, Fortnite reigns as the 2018 Online Game of the Year!

Runners-Up:

Minecraft, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Rocket League
