A few hints and strategies for this console version of Tribes.

Secret Conversation Options:
In order to say things to other players not previously capable of such as “Repair me” “I need a ride” and others create a character to your liking. Then in your buddy list enter CHAT-TEST. Note: This code will only work in the rooms marked “Inevitable” with an arrow pointed towards them.

Secret Statue:
Start a one player bot match. Set “Bots” to “Off” and “Max Team” to “1”. Choose the Slapdash level under the CTF heading. Go to the vehicle station and get yourself a jet (easier to see). Follow the perimeter of the level (next to the out of bounds wall) until you reach a clearing in the top right corner. Get out and look in the area to find a statue.

Satchel Charges:
On the first deathmatch get to the tower. There will be satchel charges that you can plant.

Grenade Launcher:
There is a grenade launcher in a bunker.

Quick Ammunition:
If you are in need of ammunition and do not have an ammo pack (but for example have an energy pack) on some maps there are bunkers with packs in them. If you do not have an ammo pack and there is one on the ground swap for whatever pack you have to get instant ammunition. You can do this back and forth as many times as needed.

Free Health:
Get a repair pack. After doing so if you are in a vehicle and it blows up you are left with very little heath. To fix this press Circle to get the repair pack then hold L2 to make it work. You should get your health back.

Picking Off Enemies:
There are many floating patches of land that are some times useful to pick off enemies. Some of the soldiers will see you before they get killed and start shooting underneath you. If this happens jump off spin and while in the air shoot him.

Human Bomb:
This trick only works if you are playing a two player botmatch with a friend or two player online. You need someone next to you in real life so you can tell them what you are doing. Get a satchel charge and plant it on them. If there is something that needs to be blown out of the way tell them where to go carry them on a transport or lead them with a fighter jet or hover bike. Have them drop down by the target then press the activator button. This causes the satchel to go off blowing up your partner with a slight chance of blowing up the target. You may need to repeat this a few times.

Air Fighter Bomb:
This trick works best if you have two people since you can have double the power. Damage yourself to the point where one hit would kill you then damage the fighter the same way. To perform the entire trick practice your dodging skills in the fighter jet. Have both you and your friend plant a satchel charge on the front of the fighter. Get into the fighter and fly to there base. Find a good target and fly into it. You and both satchels will explode. Your body will go flying and the target will more than likely be eliminated until the other team heals or replaces it.

Turrets and armor:
The following turrets are best against the corresponding armors:

Missile Turret: Light and Medium armor.
Plasma Turret: Devastating to Heavy Armor as well as Light and Medium.
Mortar Turret: Heavy armor.
Anti-Aircraft Turret: All armors.
Sentry Turret: Note: You cannot deploy it. The Sentry Turret destroy anything and is best avoided.

If you are close enough to the corner the view will pass through Daisy. Manually shift the view back out so that you are looking out from inside Daisy. You can see two blue stars covering her breasts.

Jango Fett – Rocket Booster:
Go to any level and execute the Jango Jump Jet move. This trick will let you jump three times higher then normal which is useful for getting to high places money etc. However if you are playing in two player mode and are both Jango Fett one of you will not be able to use the move to make you go higher. Instead it will make the other player go even higher then before.

Jango Fett – Fly Around Levels:
Start a level with Jango Fett and enable the “Moon physics” code. Jump up and use his rocket boost repeatedly every second. You should be able to fly as long as you use his rocket boost. This would be an easy way to get massive points if you get used to it.

Mike Vallely – Screen contact:
Go to the skater selection screen and highlight Mike Vallely. Rotate him to make him face the left side. He should throw his skateboard at the screen making it shake and have little static.

Pro Challenges:
In order to unlock your skater’s pro challenge you must get 90 pro points. The “Pro Challenge Unlocked” message will appear. The game will then tell you the level it is in and ask if you want to go there. If you choose “No” you can still go back and do it at anytime. Pro challenges are the most difficult goals. You may want to build your stats before you attempt them.

Completing Kareem Cambell’s Pro challenge:
Get the directions for the challenge from the man on the roof. Allow the game to idle there. Do not press Ollie. After several minutes the game will think you are going through the first two parts of the challenge. Although you still have to do the final challenge of seven tricks in one combo over the gaps you will have two minutes and thirty seconds to do it. You can also let the game idle longer on the last one and all you have to do are the tricks over the gaps and not in one combo.

Big Air:
Get $9000 and buy the Star Warrior secret character (Jango Fett). He has a special trick called Jango Jump Jets. Use this special with the “Moon physics” code enabled and you will fly extremely high.

Easy Stat Points:
Make a created skater start a career quickly finish simple objectives save the skater start a new career load the skater and do the same objectives. The game will give you stat points quickly being that they become more scarce as the game goes on. When your stat points are maxed out you can switch them all to a pro skater if desired.

Easy Money:
When you are selecting your skater notice that there are people skating in a halfpipe in the background and that there is money there. After picking your skater go to practice instead of skate. You can skate in that halfpipe you saw and collect that money.

Eat Pizza:
Go to “Edit Tricks” then “Special Tricks” then select “Chomp On This”. You will eat pizza once you do the trick.

Huge Combos:
Enable the “Matrix mode” and “Moon gravity” codes for huge combos.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 Reference:
In Build Park mode one of the themes’ background resembles the Los Angeles level from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3.

View All FMV Sequences Cheaply:
Save your game then buy a movie for $800. After you have viewed the FMV sequence reset the PlayStation2 and buy a different movie.

A code to make chat significantly easier in this car combat thriller.

Chat:
Press L1 R1 L2 R2 L1 R1 L2 R2 L1 R1 L2 R2 L1 R1 L2 R2 L1 R1 when inside a game waiting room. A sound will confirm correct code entry. From now on chat can be accessed by pressing Square inside any game’s waiting room. This code must be reactivated after you reset or turn off your PlayStation2. Note: Press Square to open/leave chat for that game room. If there is a new message and you are not in the chat you just press Square again. To summarize press Square after the code is enabled to make a keyboard appear where you can chat. Press Triangle to exit the chat and Square to re-enter. Incoming messages will appear in the bottom right of the screen.

Alternately press R1 R2 L2 L1 L1 L2 R2 R1 when inside a game waiting room.

Hints and strategies for the Xbox’ answer to the PC’s Unreal Tournament.

Wall Jump:
If there is a wall is to your right jump up and to the right then jump off the wall to your left.

Agility Power-up:
When your adrenaline reaches 100 and it starts to flash quickly tap Down(3) Up.

Regeneration Power-up:
When your adrenaline reaches 100 and it starts to flash quickly tap Down(4).

Invisibility Power-up:
When your adrenaline reaches 100 and it starts to flash quickly tap Right(2) Left(2).

Berserk Power-up :
When your adrenaline reaches 100 and it starts to flash quickly tap Up(4).

Alternate Rocket Launcher Firing:
When using the rocket launcher hold Alternate Fire. Once you load two rockets hold Primary Fire until all three are launched. This will make the three rockets launch in a tighter formation and will cause them to fire in a circular motion instead of going straight.

Easy Flag Win:
When you get the other team’s flag use your shell gun and make your team defend your team’s flag. Run for your base. If there are people from the other team shooting you. the shell gun should give you time to get to your base if you have full life. Do this repeatedly and you will be winner of the flag champ.

When playing on Xbox Live and your team has the enemy’s flag and are running to score go to the enemy’s base and stand on top of the flag post. As soon as your team scores you will be there on the flag. It will then say that you have the flag. However look at the flag post and you will see the flag is still there. You can still score even though the flag is there. The enemy (real players) may not try to get it back because to them their flag is still in its place.

If you grab the flag plant a teleporter right by the enemy’s flag. When you score switch to the teleporter gun and press Alternate Fire. Then grab the flag again and plant another. This also is useful if a partner takes the flag and you want to assist him back. Simply plant one help him then teleport back when he scores or dies. Note: Make sure you do not walk over the transporter when leaving — this will pick it up and you will not transport. Also if you die the teleport discs reset and you will be unable to teleport.

Get Shot Into The Air:
If you are on an elevator going up jump at the top. You will get shot into the air. On a certain capture the flag level you can get to a secret area by doing this.

Play in instant action mode with any Automaton and select Capture The Flag. Go into Mutators and select Low Gravity. Start the Eye Of Jahan level get out of your base then go to one of the two pyramids. Double jump forward into the middle of the front of the pyramid. If done correctly you will keep going up and eventually to the back of the pyramid. Once your character is falling in back of the pyramid he will be shot extremely high into the air.

A few hints for one of the greatest stealth games ever. Splinter Cell came around when people were asking for another great Xbox game besides Halo. Well guess what? They got one.

Throw Further:
When you are throwing a can or a bottle hold L to throw it harder and further.

Ammunition:
When you are in the room with a guard sitting at the desk that must be interrogated behind the laptop is a machine gun. Near that there is a lot of 5.56mm ammunition for your SC-20K.

Save Ammunition:
If you find a room being patrolled by a guard or worker wait until he leaves then turn off the light switch. When he returns he will immediately move to the light switch to turn it on. At this point his back should be turned to you. Quietly sneak up and either grab or punch him without firing your weapon.

Useful Objects:
You can sometimes find glass bottles on the ground. If you find one there are some things that you can do with it to save ammunition. Throw a bottle at a guard’s head to knock them out. You can also throw them at lights which can sometimes break them. Throw a bottle (or a can) into an area where a guard is located. This will cause the guard to looking around which allows you to sneak into places without being seen. To throw a bottle or a can pick one up and press X. Once you do that aim with the dots and press R to throw it. You can throw farther and harder by holding L while doing all of this.

You can use objects such as a pop can or beer bottle to distract guards lure them or knock them out. Simply go over to it and press A to pick it up. To throw it hold X to get an aimer (hold L if you want a stronger longer shot) then press R to shoot. To hit someone with it walk up or sneak up to them (either from the front or rear) and press R to smash it at them. To lure a guard just throw it somewhere and they should come looking for whoever threw it.

Avoiding Detection:
Always try to stay in shadows or bushes; crouch when walking around; try to take someone hostage before shooting them; always try to use your night vision/thermo goggles just to check to see if there is anything to get around you; and drag bodies into dark corners.

Retrieving Sticky Camera:
To retrieve a sticky camera that is too high to reach shoot it with the sniper rifle or the handgun. It will fall to the ground.

Hiding:
You cannot be seen when hiding in dark places. Shoot the lights to make it dark but make sure that there are no guards around. Do not stay in the light too long.

Faster Manual Lockpick:
When using the manual lockpick instead of rotating it slowly as the game suggests press the Analog-stick in one of the four diagonal corners as the “rumble” will always be in one of those directions. This is much quicker.

Thermal Goggle Keypad Readings:
To read the heat signature on a keypad you can either walk up to the keypad and look at it with the heat goggles on use sniper mode at a distance with the heat goggles on or activate the keypad and turn on your heat goggles there. The order of the buttons will be as follows based on color: Deep Blue Blue Light Blue Green Light Green Yellow Orange Red. For example if you had a Deep Blue button at 1 a Light Green button at 3 a Light Blue button at 4 and a Orange-Ish Red button at 6 the code would be 1-4-3-6.

Doors:
Opening doors often triggers events that just waiting for a certain amount of time will not. For example at the beginning of the Defense Ministry level the first door you reach leads to a room with a security camera. When you use the optical cable no other dangers are present. However upon opening the door a guard opens the door across the room which may make you panic and do something foolish. To prevent such events from occurring use the Open Door Stealth feature. When you walk up to the door hold A press Left Analog-stick Down and release A. You will open the door slightly. Next press Left Analog-stick Down again to close the door. This will cause the scripted event (if any are set for that door) to go off. In the Defense Ministry example doing this will get the guard to come in. Use the optical cable to see where he is. He walks behind a bookcase then walks back to his desk. Once he sits down open the door crouch walk slowly behind him then whack or shoot him. Either leave him there or pick him up and drop him behind the bookcases. You can also grab him and knock him out behind the bookcase.

Blocking Doors:
If you have someone chasing you run out a door and when it closes stand in front of the door for awhile. The guard will sometimes try to open it before he gives up. Note: The door must open towards you and not towards the enemy. The game can crash sometimes when you do this. If the guard starts shooting at the door you must open it quickly. Otherwise the game will glitch and you will be invisible to the enemy and no event triggers will start.

Shooting Lights Accurately:
When you want to shoot out a light and need make it accurate turn on your heat vision. You should be able to knock out the light faster and easier.

You can zoom up with the Sc-20k after you have drawn it out by pressing Y. After that you can also center the screen by holding L. You only have a limited time before it runs out. However this is useful when you want to shoot lights very accurately.

Escaping A Room Full of Soldiers:
Take a sticky camera or smoke grenades and throw it near where the most guards are located. For the sticky camera a control bar that tells you how to make a noise or use smoke will appear at the bottom of the screen. Throw the smoke grenade and the smoke should knock out some guards. When the smoke appears from the grenade(s) it is your chance to run for it .

Knock Out An Enemy:
To knock out an enemy without killing him equip the sticky camera and shoot it at his head. Aim slightly above the head to compensate for gravity. After he is down pick up the sticky camera and use it again.

You can throw bottles to knock out guards. You must aim and hit them in the head.

Taking Out Two Guards:
Shoot a sticky camera near the guard closest to you. When he approaches use the gas to knock him out. The other guard will approach to investigate. You must either shoot him with a non lethal round if you cannot have casualties or take him out with a head shot if killing is sanctioned. This has to be done correctly or he will revive the guard that you knocked out.

Eliminating Guard Threat Without Ammunition:
If you do not have ammunition and you find two guards sneak up to one and take him hostage. Make sure that your hostage is facing the other guard or he will shoot you.

If you do not have ammunition hide in the shadows and wait for a guard to come up to you (or slowly creep up to him) then press R. This will punch him. Use two punches to knock out someone.

Luring Your Enemy:
To do this find a can or glass bottle to pick up. Once obtained move to a location preferably dark. While hidden throw the can or bottle to an open area with an enemy nearby. When thrown the enemy will wonder what happened and walk towards that location. After you have drawn him out you can take him out for an easy kill.

Hiding Bodies:
After you have disposed of enemies in an area make sure that you still hide them even though no one is nearby. Before going to another checkpoint the alarm may ring and it will say that a body was found. Try to hide all bodies in hidden areas for best results.

Completion Bonuses:
Successfully complete the game to unlock Ragnarok in local multi-player mode.

Successfully complete the game under any difficult setting to unlock a mech called Ymir.

Tips: The Ragnarok mech is a perfect blend of armor firepower and heat design as long you do not use the lava gun constantly. The Ymir has greater firepower than the regular chassis of Ragnarok. However it generates a great deal more heat making it a good choice for advanced players for to make short work of their opposition.

Avoid PPC Projectile:
To easily avoid a PPC projectile when playing on Xbox Live choose a mech that has jump jets. While the enemy is charging up their PPC activate your jump jets. Once they fire release the jump jets and the PPC will fly over you as you fall to the ground. This can be very effective against Mad Cats.
